Kiersten Lloyd has been a competitor in both agility (AAC, NADAC, CKC, and USDAA) and competitive obedience for the past 13 years. Kiersten and her dogs have excelled at both. Kiersten currently has 4 labs that have made dog sports the center piece of her life. Quiggly is a 12 year old big yellow male who stopped competing at 2 years old due to a chronic elbow injury. Kes is a little yellow lab that Kiersten describes as her heart and soul that taught her to shoot for the stars. Kes has excelled in both agility and obedience, making the Top 10 All breeds for Obedience in 1999 and 2000 and winning the 22” Specials Division at the AAC National Championships in 2002 and the 16” Specials Division in 2005. Kes was awarded the Lifetime Agility award in AAC last year. At 10 years old she continues to run agility but has retired from the Obedience ring with her MOTCh. Zoom, a black lab, is 6 years old. Zoom’s first trial was the Alberta/NWT Regional championship where she finished with an easy qualifier for National championships and a first place in a Jumpers round. Zoom was the youngest dog at the 2003 AAC Nationals and finished 6th place in the 26” Regular division at 21 months of age. Zoom has her Gold Award of Merit in AAC and she also has titles in CKC and USDAA agility. Zoom and Kiersten competed in the 2005, 2006 & 2007 Cynosport World Games (USDAA) and is working on qualifying for 2008. Zoom has her CDX and will enter the Utility ring in the future. Kiersten newest addition is Swift – 2 year old female black Lab who is Zoom’s niece. Swift has come onto the agility scene with big shoes to fill and she is doing it with all the grace a young dog can.

Kiersten started judging agility in AAC and CKC 7 years ago and describes it as a natural extension of the fun she has while running her own dogs. Kiersten also writes for Dog Sport magazine and teaches agility and obedience on a regular basis. Kiersten’s goal in teaching is to try and help each dog and handler better understand each other so they can live and play with each other more happily.
